Hello, I’m Joe
(he/him)
Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern
I am currently a Master’s Student at the University of Montevallo under the supervision of Nick Fasanello, LPC
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s student at the University of Montevallo, where I also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.
I use a combination of existential and person-centered approaches to therapy. My counseling special interests are assisting clients with technology addiction and existential issues such as depression, grief, and life purpose. My work is heavily informed by a passion and personal practice for meditation and spirituality.
I am a lover of storytelling, which has greatly influenced my passion for counseling. I see the therapy process as a journey to be undertaken, where each individual faces their own unique trials and quests along the way. This could be helping clients heal from trauma, become who they feel they are meant to be, or simply bring a little peace into their lives. Wherever your journey takes you, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
When I’m not counseling, I love to read, watch movies, play video games, go for walks, and do some creative writing.
One of my favorite quotes:
“I can’t carry it for you, but I can carry you…”
― Samwise Gamgee, The Return of the King, J. R. R. Tolkien
